HANDBALL. Group: 2ºESO

Handball is a team sport and the object of the game is to throw the ball into the opponent’s goal.

It’s played on a court which is 40 metres long by 20 metres wide.

The game consists of two thirty minute time periods.

TECHNIQUES:

  • The bounce: You can bounce the ball to the opposite goal, but it’s better if you pass the ball. You should bounce the ball when you have to run a long distance.
  • The pass: It is the most important techniques in Handball. There are different types: side passes, classic passes, passing using one or two hands…

*Classic pass: You use only one hand, take your shoulder back and your arm must be at a 90º angle. It is the most common.

* Pronation pass: You use this type of passing when you are very close to your team mate.

  • The shot: You use this technique when you are trying to score. You can do this technique while jumping or standing. You need strength and precision.

  • DOUBLE DRIBBLE: If you stop bouncing the ball, you are not allowed to start bouncing again, but you can take three steps.
